Her dreams most often take form in songs which seed the evolution of her creative process. “I find I'm at my happiest and most centered when I'm learning about and working on music”. Born into a musical family -her grandfather, Jimmy Gannon, was a jazz bassist who toured with Ella Fitzgerald, Buddy Rich and many other jazz legends- Indira has been composing melodies since she was 4 years old. Raised in Los Angeles amongst a thriving creative community and surrounded with interesting characters, there was much inspiration for the young musician to draw from. “When I was 20, I decided I was going to move to New York to cultivate my craft with the fervent energy one only finds in the Big Apple”. Indira currently resides in NYC’s east village with her puppy dog, Hendrix. She writes and records original compositions and has a talent for arranging covers with a moody distinct vibe. My Story. The premise of this video is to highlight the way that Black and Brown kids are treated everyday, and to show how that has a huge effect on our outlook on the world and our view of ourselves. The way that I have been treated often made me feel isolated and worthless and showed me how society did not accept me. Issues of race are not only systemic in our government and laws but also in the view that society has of us. This is my story, hear my voice.
